Ellen DeGeneres has tested positive for COVID-19.
The daytime talk show host shared the news on social media Thursday, writing on Twitter that she is currently “feeling fine.”
“Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I tested positive for COVID-19,” DeGeneres tweeted. “Fortunately, I’m feeling fine right now. Anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified, and I am following all proper CDC guidelines. I’ll see you all again after the holidays.”
A spokesperson for Telepictures confirmed that production of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” will be stopped until January, according to Variety.
The show began inviting a limited number of audience members back into the studio in October — one of the first television productions to do so amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to USA Today. Some of the show’s guests have also appeared in-person, including “Hamilton” star Leslie Odom Jr. on Dec. 9.
Over the summer, the talk show faced toxic work environment allegations from current and former employees, leading to a workplace investigation by parent company WarnerMedia, the Deseret News reported at the time.
DeGeneres kicked off the show’s 18th season in September with an on-air apology to her staff and viewers.
“I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people that were affected,” DeGeneres said on the show, according to CNN. “I know that I am in a position of privilege and power and with that comes responsibility and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.”
