China will reportedly get an exclusive “Star Wars” story set during “The High Republic” era of the franchise, and it will focus on a character named Sean.
What’s going on?
- The book’s English title translates as “Star Wars; The Vow of Silver Dawn.”
It will focus on a Jedi padawan named Sean, who “is torn between what the Jedi Council wants and his own personal goals,” according to ComicBook.com.
- “Sean is a character with a secret. His origins have always been shrouded in mystery,” James Waugh, Lucasfilm’s vice president of franchise content and strategy says in the short video. “He ends up being very much torn between his duty to the Jedi Council, to his Master, and to his own interests.”
What is ‘The High Republic’ era?
Lucasfilm recently released a set of novels and comic books based around “The High Republic” era of “Star Wars,” which is set 200 years before the prequel trilogy — although that has been rumored to be 50 years and not 200 years.
- The era is set in a time when the Jedi are at the peak of their power.
