“The Mandalorian” may have just drawn a connection between Grogu and Ben Solo, if you read into “Star Wars” lore.

What happened:

The most recent episode of “The Mandalorian” featured the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu (Baby Yoda) heading to the planet Tython so Grogu could connect with the Force and make a choice about what direction he wanted to go with his ability.

Grogu sat on top of a seeing stone. Blue butterflies appeared soon after. It later led to some serious drama, but we won’t get into that here. Read our review if you’re interested.

The connection:

The blue butterflies might be a connection between Grogu and Ben Solo, who went on to become Kylo Ren.

The connections start with the “Star Wars Kids” YouTube channel’s show “Star Wars Roll Out.” The episodes showed Ben Solo had a connection to blue butterflies.

  • In the first episode, Ben Solo, his dad Han Solo and Uncle Chewbacca head out to find some crystal butterflies. But there’s some Bug Hunters who make life tough for the group.
  • In the second episode, Han Solo and Chewbacca get captured by the Bug Hunters. Ben Solo works to set them free.
  • The episodes are pretty quick, so you can watch them below.

How Grogu and Kylo Ren connect

It appears the blue butterflies are visiting both people. Ben Solo would be about 4 or 5 years old at the time of “The Mandalorian,” so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the blue butterflies appear in front of Grogu because Ben Solo is reaching out to him.

Of course, Ben Solo ended up joining the dark side of the Force, becoming Kylo Ren.
