Following in the footsteps of fellow pop icons Rihanna and Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez announced this week that she will be launching her own line of beauty products called “Rare Beauty.”

In an Instagram video on Wednesday, Gomez said the beauty line she has been working on for over two years will be released this summer, retailed exclusively by Sephora.

The video shows her in the process of creating the line and trying some of the makeup products, with her latest single “Rare” playing in the background.

“I think Rare Beauty can be more than a beauty brand, I want us all to stop comparing ourselves to one another and to start embracing our uniqueness,” Gomez says in the video. “Rare Beauty isn’t about how other people see you, it’s about how you see yourself.”

The line name, “Rare Beauty,” was inspired by her latest album, “Rare,” Billboard reports.

Gomez also released an Instagram live video detailing her hopes for the line on Tuesday, according to Elle Magazine. In the live video, Gomez says she doesn’t just want her beauty line to be makeup, but she wants it to be a lifestyle of self-acceptance.

Gomez has also filed trademarks for her name for products that would include fragrances, bath products, essential oils, soaps, hair care products, skin care products and nail products in addition to makeup, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
