“I love that you’re still streaming this song seven years later,” Legend said in the Twitter video, according to People. “I got married to my wife with this song and so many of you are getting married or celebrating anniversaries or proposing or whatever with ‘All of Me’ and I appreciate you.”
“All of Me” has been streamed on Spotify 1.1 billion times, with streams increasing by 50% every year on Valentine’s Day, according to a release from Spotify. The song is also the most-added to playlists about love and has been added to over 29 million playlists.
“The impact of ‘All of Me’ continues to amaze and inspire me,” Legend said in the release from Spotify. “I’m so honored to know we created something that has meant so much to so many people. I wrote this song to express how I felt to the woman I love as we were about to commit to a lifetime together. But often the best songs are able to express something in a way that is both personal and universal. I’m grateful to know that lovers around the world have connected with this song and made it their own.”
But “All of Me” is not the only song that sees an increase in streams around Valentine’s Day. Spotify told USA Today that other popular songs include:
- “Kiss” by Prince
- “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston
- “Your Song” by Elton John
- “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper
- “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” by Bryan Adams
