‘Star Wars: The Mandalorian’ to return in October

“Star Wars: The Mandalorian” will return to Disney Plus in October.

What happened: Disney CEO Bob Iger announced in a quarterly earnings call Tuesday that the Disney Plus show will have a second season drop in October 2020, according to IGN.

  • Iger said Baby Yoda “has taken the world by storm.”
  • More products with The Child will arrive soon, Iger said.

More: Iger said “The Mandalorian” could have new characters that lead to spinoffs, Variety reports.

Disney Plus: Iger said Disney Plus earned 28.6 million subscribers to date, according to IGN.

  • Iger: “We had a strong first quarter, highlighted by the launch of Disney Plus, which has exceeded even our greatest expectations. Thanks to our incredible collection of brands, outstanding content from our creative engines and state-of-the-art technology, we believe our direct-to-consumer services, including Disney Plus, ESPN Plus and Hulu, position us well for continued growth in today’s dynamic media environment.”

Other products: Marvel’s new show “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” will drop in August. “WandaVision” will hit screens in December, according to Variety.
