After ending his presidential campaign earlier this month, Pete Buttigieg has revealed his next step — late night television.
The former South Bend, Indiana, mayor announced on the “Today” show Monday that he would be guest hosting “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
The episode will air Thursday, March 12, while Kimmel is busy hosting “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.” The episode will feature “Star Trek” star Patrick Stewart, Fox News reported.
Buttigieg is the first politician to guest host Kimmel’s show, according to the Hill. He will deliver a stand-up monologue during Thursday night’s episode, written with help from the show’s staff, CNN reported.
During his appearance on the “Today” show, Buttigieg said that while he does plan to get involved in politics again in the near future, he and his husband, Chasten, want to “have some fun first” and have been traveling the country together to thank supporters, USAToday reported.
“The thing about coming off a presidential campaign is you’ve been focused on one thing, and one thing only,” Buttigieg told “Today.” “It’s nice to be able to zoom out and just come back at life.”
