Ballet West will be making changes to its season performance schedule due to concerns about the coronavirus, according to a statement released on Monday.
Ballet West said in it statement that it will be postponing or making adjustments to two of its performances as it continues to “closely monitor the ever-evolving situation regarding COVID-19 and the restrictions and recommendations public health officials are offering to contain this virus.”
- “Bolero and the Dream,” which was originally scheduled for April 17-25, will be postponed to June 18-21.
- The Choreographic Festival will still be held May 14-16. However, visiting companies Singapore Dance Theatre and Royal New Zealand Ballet will not present at the festival.
Meanwhile, the Frederick Quinney Lawson Ballet West Academy is following the guidelines of the Salt Lake County School District and will remain closed until March 30.
Patron services will contact ticket holders in the coming weeks regarding their tickets, according to the statement from Ballet West.
Ballet West also announced that it is planning ways to engage with the community online.
“Our work at Ballet West continues, albeit differently,” Executive Director Michael Scolamiero said in a statement. “We are more committed than ever to our mission, while adapting to this challenging environment.”
