A new parody video provides a unique twist to the opening song of “Beauty and the Beast” to stress the importance of social distancing and hand-washing.

What’s happening:

  • The video — created by Sharon Luxenburg and sung by Miri Shavi — shows Belle starting her normal day in the village.
  • But the characters around her shame her for not washing her hands and for not practicing social distancing.

Some of the lyrics include:

“I’ve yet to see a reckless fool quite like her

“Without a mask or gloves she goes!?

“In the Grand Princess she’s been

“And she thinks no one had seen

“She’s gonna get us all infected, that is Belle!”

And then another section goes:

“And there she goes with runny nose and fever

“She never covered when she sneezed

“She forgets to wash her hands

“Though she claims to comprehend

“The dangers of Corona, that is Belle”

  • As Mashable reported, Belle also suggests in the video that the coronavirus is just another flu. But that isn’t true at all.
  • Mashable said: “COVID-19 is definitely not ‘just another flu’ and we can limit how many people will die from it by simply staying home and washing our hands. Don’t be Belle!”
