“The Mandalorian” is set to launch its second season this fall, bringing fans back into the world of Mando, Baby Yoda and a host of other characters who captivated the internet at the end of 2019.
What are the facts?
- “Rebels” and “Clone Wars” showrunner Dave Filoni recently said he’s unsure of a sequel series. He told Deadline: “I think that there’s always potential for stories that involve the characters from ‘Rebels,’ which is maybe a better way to put it. They’ve all earned their place in the galaxy, so to speak, so I’m sure there’s some more of them to do.”
- Rosario Dawson was hired for season 2 of “The Mandalorian.” It’s unclear what her role will be.
What are the rumors?
- Rumors suggest Dawson will play Ahsoka Tano, one of the main characters of “The Clone Wars” show that wrapped up in May. Ahsoka appeared in “Star Wars Rebels.” She even showed up in the last episode, which took place around the events of “Return of the Jedi,” hinting that he is still alive.
- Kessel Run Transmissions suggests that Ahsoka Tano and “Rebels” character Sabine Wren will appear in one episode of “The Mandalorian.” There’s even talk that Commander Rex will appear as well. He will reportedly be played by Temuera Morrison, who has been cast to play Boba Fett, too. This would make sense since Morrison played Jango Fett, whose clones became the Clone Army of the Republic and Boba Fett.
- Rumors suggest Sasha Banks. a professional wrestler, will play Sabine.
- There’s talk that the single episode of “The Mandalorian” with Sabine and Ahsoka will set up a sequel series to “Rebels.” There’s talk it will have the same animation style as “The Clone Wars,” too.
