“American Horror Story” spinoff series has officially been green-lit.
“AHS” creator Ryan Murphy — who has created shows like “Glee” — announced the new series two weeks ago via Instagram.
It will be called “American Horror Stories,” and formatted as a weekly anthology of hour-long episodes — similar to the popular dystopian series “Black Mirror,” where each episode is a standalone story.
Variety reported the new series has officially been approved by FX, the network that has housed “American Horror Stories” for its nine seasons. The show has been FX’s longest running hour-long series ever, and was renewed for seasons 10 through 13 earlier this year. The debut of Season 10, however, was pushed to 2021 because of coronavirus production complications.
“American Horror Story” is an anthology horror series that features a new storyline each season. The show is rated TV-MA for violence, sexual situations and horror elements.
