“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” is over and social media can’t handle the heartbreak.
What’s the news:
Disney Plus released the series finale of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” a few days early, dropping it on May 4 — “Star Wars Day” — ahead of its typical Friday slot.
The finale, titled “Victory and Death,” showed the conclusion of the Clone Wars, as well as the aftermath of the Siege of Mandalore. It provided us with a guide to what happened to Ahsoka Tano during the Great Jedi purge and a hint at Darth Vader’s thoughts at the end of the war.
The series ended with main character Ahsoka Tano escaping a falling space ship. Scores of Clone Troopers died during the crash. She left her lightsaber there as well, a hint that she had passed away in the crash.
Darth Vader appeared at the crash site to pick up her lightsaber. Anakin Skywalker had been her master. So it was a heart-wrenching conclusion to see him hold her lightsaber just days after handing it to her.
Social media pointed out several heartbreaking moments from the finale to mourn the losses.
