Vanessa Bryant shared a new Instagram post where she revealed she opened a secret letter sent to her from her late husband, Kobe Bryant.

  • Vanessa Bryant waited until her birthday to open the letter so she could have something to look forward to on the day.
  • Vanessa Bryant is celebrating her first birthday without her husband and daughter Gianna Bryant, who both died in a helicopter crash at the end of January 2020.
  • She wrote: “Yesterday I found an envelope labeled To: The Love of my Life. From, Tu Papi ❤️I waited to open one more letter on my birthday. It gave me something to look forward to today.❤️The irony is that Kobe had a photo of me drawn with an Angel holding me up by an artist on the cover. Missing the Love of my Life and my sweet little Mamacita- my fellow Taurus. Grateful to wake up to my 3 sweet girls today. Wish we were all together. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️#MyBirthdayWish”

Kobe Bryant honored

Kobe Bryant was recently honored during the fifth episode of ESPN’s Michael Jordan documentary, “The Last Dance.” ESPN dedicated the episode to Bryant. He also appeared briefly in the episode to talk about Michael Jordan, as I wrote about for the Deseret News.

Social media cheered for Bryant’s appearance, celebrating the late Lakers legend with tribute posts, according to my report for the Deseret News.

Correction: This article previously said Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant died in a helicopter crash at the end of January 2019. The crashed happened on Jan. 26, 2020.
