Nurses Week begins on May 6 with National Nurses Day. In 2020, with many nurses and healthcare workers working tirelessly on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to honor the work that medical professionals do every day.

So to celebrate National Nurses Day, here are some special deals and discounts going on throughout the month for restaurants, coffee, shoes and more for healthcare workers.

Sweet treats


Dunkin’ is offering a free medium hot or iced coffee and a free donut to all healthcare workers on May 6.

Jamba Juice

If you buy a smoothie or a bowl on the Jamba app or at jamba.com from May 6-13, Jamba Juice will donate a smoothie to a nurse or other essential worker, including doctors, teachers and mail carriers.

Krispy Kreme

On May 11, Krispy Kreme is offering a dozen glazed donuts for free to healthcare workers. Healthcare workers must show their badge at the drive-thru in order to receive the donuts.

Mrs. Fields

Mrs. Fields is offering a Heroes Collection of different cookie tins that are 25% off and can be sent to local hospitals and doctor’s offices. Use the promo code THANKS to get the deal when ordering online.


Yogurtland is offering discounts for their catering service to send individually packaged cups of frozen yogurt to local hospitals or other organizations. The promo code ONLINE10 will give $10 off online catering orders of $50 or more and SPRING25 will give $25 off orders of $100 or more. This deal is available through June 23 at participating Yogurtland locations.



Medical workers and first responders, as well as active duty military and veterans, can receive 50% off an order of up to $100 per day from Applebee’s every day during the month of May as part of Neighborhood Heroes Month. Call ahead to an Applebee’s restaurant and mention your eligibility for Neighborhood Heroes Month when you place your order. Then show a valid ID when picking up the order to get the deal.


Chipotle is giving away 100,000 free burritos for National Nurses Week. Healthcare workers must apply at Chipotle’s website with ID by May 6 and may request a code for either one, four or 10 free burritos.

Outback Steakhouse

Outback is offering a 10% Heroes Discount for nurses, doctors, and other healthcare workers, as well as servicemen and women, police officers and firefighters. Must be able to present a valid ID to get the discount.


For every order of $15 or more made through Postmates until May 10, Subway will donate a 6-inch sub to healthcare workers.

Shoes and clothing


Adidas is offering 40% off its Healthcare Collection for nurses and medical professionals. Must verify with ID.me in order to get the discount.


Crocs has been donating their shoes to healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic. For those who would like to get a free pair, visit Crocs’ website at 10 a.m. MT to get in the virtual line for the chance to get free shoes.


Nike is offering a 20% discount to healthcare workers. Visit Nike’s website to complete a verification form with SheerID in order to get a promo code for the discount.

The North Face

Healthcare workers are eligible for a 50% discount from The North Face until December 31. Visit their website to verify your status with SheerID in order to get the discount.


Skechers is offering a 30% discount for healthcare and other essential workers through May 31.

Other services

H&R Block

Frontline workers, including nurses and healthcare workers, as well as police and firefighters, can use H&R Block’s Tax Pro Go for free during the month of May to file their federal and state tax returns.


Amazon has a variety of Kindle ebooks about nursing that are available for free.


Healthcare workers and first responders can get a free month of online therapy through Talkspace.
