Thousands of protesters, rioters and looters took to America’s streets over the weekend, causing chaos and confusion from one coast to another.

The protests came in response to the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died after a police officer knelt on his neck in Minneapolis.

“Protesters hurled rocks and Molotov cocktails at police in Philadelphia, set a fire near the White House and were hit with tear gas and pepper spray in Austin, Texas, and other cities. Seven Boston police officers were hospitalized,” according to The Associated Press.

Brands, celebrities and companies reacted to the protests. Athletes shared statements about what the protests mean for the U.S. culture, too.

Disney reacted to the news in a statement. Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar shared the same statement across their social media feeds.
