Rey uses the strength of the dead Jedi to defeat the villainous Sith leader. During the scene, she hears the voices of Jedi of the past to gather the strength to fight.

It’s a subtle tweak to the film, bringing back characters from the original and prequel trilogies to help tie it all together. It doesn’t change much in terms of the actual story, but it does emphasize the unification of Jedi and Sith. There’s also a nostalgic link of seeing Luke, Obi Wan and Anakin helping Rey all at once to defeat Palpatine for good.
