Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich — a lifelong Republican — spoke Monday night at the Democratic National Convention about Joe Biden, and he became a meme shortly thereafter.
- Kasich said: “I’m sure there are Republicans and independents who couldn’t imagine crossing over to support a Democrat. They fear Joe may turn sharp left and leave them behind. I don’t believe that because I know the measure of the man. It’s reasonable, faithful, respectful.”
Kasich appeared at what looked like a fork in the road, or even a crossroads. And so began the Twitter discussion about his physical position.

I would read 5,000 words about how the Kasich video was produced. I wish I’d been there.
