SALT LAKE CITY — After reopening in June, Megaplex Theatres is now offering two free tickets per customer during the month of August.
What’s going on
- Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres resumed business on June 18, with a number of safety precautions in place, the Deseret News reported.
- “The intermission is finally over! Our team is ready. Our buildings are ready. Our technology is ready, and we are thrilled to be welcoming guests back to Megaplex Theatres to enjoy great movies on the biggest screens in Utah,” said Blake Andersen, Megaplex Theatres president.
- This month, the theater is offering each customer two free tickets to return to the movies and also see the “enhanced safety protocols in place,” according to Box Office Pro.
- “We want to thank our loyal guests and make it a little easier to check out our enhanced safety protocols and enjoy a movie or two compliments of Megaplex,” Andersen in a statement, according to Box Office Pro. “Guest and employee health and safety continue to be our highest priority as our team takes extraordinary steps to ensure a safe environment for everyone.”

How it works
- The deal applies to “new and qualified” members of MyMegaRewards, the theater chain’s loyalty program. To claim the tickets, customers must join the program on either the mobile app or website, according to Box Office Pro.
- Current members can claim tickets after completing their profile and activating their account.
- The tickets are valid for any film shown in August at participating locations in Utah. The two tickets include one premium luxury movie ticket and one traditional reserved movie ticket (both can be used for 3D, IMAX, and Dolby Atmos formats, according to Box Office Pro).
- Only one free ticket can be used at a time, and the deal can’t be combined with other offers.
- The deal expires at midnight on Aug. 31.
What’s playing?
