Community Briefs
- Loveland Living Planet Aquarium in Draper is accepting donations to help “Feed the Fishes.” The aquarium was closed for 56 days from mid-March to mid-May due to COVID-19, and attendance is still limited because of local mandates. It costs $2 million each year to care for the 4,500 animals that live in the aquarium, including food, veterinary care, staffing and habitat maintenance. Those who are interested in donating to help provide care for the animals at the aquarium can do so at thelivingplanet.com/feed-the-fishes.
- Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City is creating and selling face masks that are available to order online. The masks are form-fitted in different sizes and have ear loops and a holder for a filter. There are a variety of preselected prints and fabrics for the masks, but special requests and custom orders can also be accommodated, including large scale orders for companies and events. - The Salt Lake County Library is now allowing patrons to return to branches with the Inside Express service. The service is appointment-based and will be available at all Salt Lake County branches except for the Columbus branch. Patrons can enter the branch for 10 minutes to browse a limited selection of books and pick up holds. Computers, faxing, scanning and copying services are still not available. Inside Express is limited to two people per appointment and face coverings are required. For more information, visit slcolibrary.org.
