The new iOS 14 became available for all Apple iPhone users on Thursday, giving people a chance to rework their home screens in a way never seen among iPhones before.
The major update allows people to use redesigned widgets and a new App Library system, which gives people the option to customize their homepage.
- “Together with iPhone, iOS is central to how we navigate our lives and stay connected, and we are making it even more powerful and easier to use in iOS 14, with the biggest update ever to the Home Screen,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering. “We are thrilled to see the incredible ways developers are taking advantage of widgets and App Clips to create new experiences that we think customers are going to love.”
What does this mean?
- You can now rework your iPhone screen to fit your needs.
- You can move apps and widgets around to show widgets for sports, news, entertainment or more.
- Users can move their apps into big, new folders that show off some apps compared to others.
Social media shares some ideas
People on Twitter showed off different ideas for what your homepage could look like, including adding the new fitness widget or an increased battery widget.
