The first official trailer for the new Marvel series “WandaVision” dropped during the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night.
The trailer gives us our first glimpse at the upcoming show, highlighting how two characters in the MCU realize they are living in an unfamiliar world.
The series “is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision — two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives — begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.”
- Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will reprise their roles as Wanda and The Vision, respectively, for the show.
No release date was announced.
- However, the show will debut in late 2020, Disney Plus said in a release.
Is it based off of a comic?

Wanda and The Vision first began a relationship in the ’70s during the run of Avengers comics that year, IGN reports. The two were married in a 1975 edition of “Avengers.”
- The couple got their own miniseries — “Vision and the Scarlet Watch” — in 1982 as well. And they worked on the West Coast Avengers squad together, which allowed Marvel to showcase the married couple.
- In the comics, Vision and Scarlet Watch had a pair of twin boys — William and Thomas.
- However, the 1989 storyline “Vision Quest” led to Vision being emotionally reset so he never knew about his wife and children. Later, Wanda had her memories removed as well, according to IGN.
