The Japanese trailer for “Wonder Woman 1984” has additional footage that wasn't released in the original U.S. trailer that came out a few weeks ago.
The trailer — which was released Friday — shows both Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and co-star Chris Pine as Steve Trevor in action. Pine is seen “punching enemies on moving cars as Wonder Woman uses her lasso to fly through the air on clouds in broad daylight,” according to People magazine.
Wonder Woman’s new golden armor takes center stage. There are also extended fight scenes showcasing Wonder Woman fighting off villains, including the new Max Lord (Pedro Pascal) and The Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) can be seen in the new trailer, according toFox News.
Gadot reprises her role as the DC Comics hero Wonder Woman in the sequel to the 2017 favorite “Wonder Woman: Rise of the Warrior.”
“Wonder Woman 1984” also includes the return of Robin Wright as Antiope, Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta and the aunt and mother of Wonder Woman.
The film was set to originally be released on June 5 but was pushed back to August because of the coronavirus pandemic. It was pushed back yet again to October before producers finally set a release date for Christmas 2020, per Fox News.
“First and foremost let me say how much Gal and I love all our devoted Wonder Woman fans around the world, and your excitement for ‘WW84’ couldn’t make us happier or more eager for you to see the movie,” director Patty Jenkins told Variety. “Because I know how important it is to bring this movie to you on a big screen when all of us can share the experience together, I’m hopeful you won’t mind waiting just a little bit longer. With the new date on Christmas Day, we can’t wait to spend the holidays with you!”
