Elton John will be touring once again after the postponement of his current “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” due to the coronavirus pandemic. But fans will still have to wait a while.
John announced Wednesday that the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour” will return to North America beginning Jan. 19, 2022, in New Orleans, with rescheduled dates for Houston, Chicago, New York City, Toronto and others for 2022, according to USA Today.
Additional information concerning these performances will be announced at a later date.
In July, it was announced the global tour would officially restart on Sept. 1, 2021, in Berlin, Germany. The tour originally kicked off in September 2018 with a sold-out show in Allentown, Pennsylvania, per Fox News.
“I’ve been enjoying my time at home with the family while the world navigates its way through the COVID pandemic. But, I really miss being on the road and performing for my beloved fans in my Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour,” John said in a statement per Variety. “While the scientists are making great progress, we are making big plans for a return to touring that will allow us to ensure the health and safety of everyone. I will be starting my tour again in Europe and the UK in the Fall of 2021. And I will be back in North America starting in January 2022.”
John ensured fans about his health saying, “I’m using my downtime to keep myself fighting fit and healthier than ever. I’m raring to go!”
Original tickets purchased will be honored for the rescheduled performances. A full list of tour dates can be found on Elton John’s website.
