Amazon wants to make shopping a little easier. So it has added a new featured that allows you to pay by waving your hand.

What’s going on?

Amazon has introduced a new feature called Amazon One, which connects your palm print to a credit card store in the system.

  • You scan your hand over a sensor to buy an item — checkout free.
  • This would only happen at Amazon Go stores.
  • Right now, people can scan their smartphone inside the store to pay. This would take that feature to an entirely new level.
  • “We believe Amazon One has broad applicability beyond our retail stores, so we also plan to offer the service to third parties like retailers, stadiums and office buildings so that more people can benefit from this ease and convenience in more places,” said Dilip Kumar, vice president of Amazon’s physical retail business, in a statement.

Where is this happening?

The feature can be found at Amazon Go stores in Seattle, CNN reports.

  • Amazon plans to add it in its stores in San Francisco, New York, and Chicago as well.
  • Amazon might add the feature to stadiums, offices and other retailers in the near future.
