Disneyland Resort opened up as a super site for COVID-19 vaccine distribution on Wednesday, administering 3,000 doses already, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Context

Earlier this week, Disneyland announced that it would become a super site for distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to people in Orange County, Calif., as I wrote about for the Deseret News.

  • “The Disneyland Resort, the largest employer in the heart of Orange County, has stepped up to host the county’s first super POD (Point Of Dispensing) site — undertaking a monumental task in our vaccination distribution process,” said acting chairman Andrew Do, in the Orange County announcement about the decision.

Disneyland opened up to help California speed up the COVID-19 vaccination effort, according to The New York Times. California has been struggling with a massive surge of COVID-19 cases, becoming an epicenter for the United States and the world.
