“Star Wars” legend Mark Hamill and “Mulan” star Ming-Na Wen praised each other on social media over the weekend in response to the memorable Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian.”

What happened

Hamill — who played Luke Skywalker in the original “Star Wars” trilogy — recently celebrated his cameo with a tweet that included a video to fan reactions.

  • “Seeing fan’s reactions to Luke’s return is something I will cherish forever. Their anticipation seeing the X-Wing/Ep. 6 Robes/a lightsaber/a GREEN lightsaber/a gloved hand/an ungloved hand/a Force choke/R2-was OVERWHELMING & very moving to me.”

Ming-Na Wen, who plays Fennec in “The Mandalorian,” quoted the tweet and celebrated Hamill.

  • “You (& Luke) have been immensely inspirational & impactful to my childhood & as an adult. To have shared a scene with you in @themandalorian is truly one of the biggest highlight, not just in my career, but in my life. Thank you.”

Hamill followed up one last time, saying he was “literally speechless” over the praise from Wen.

  • “So this happened & I’m literally speechless, other than to say: the pleasure was all mine @MingNa.”

Wen responded to Hamill again, saying she reached a high point in her career because of the tweet.

  • “I’ve reached nerd nirvana. Gotta say, this Is WAY cooler than the time Steven Tyler spilled red wine on my arm and wiped it off with cocktail napkins at a party.”.

More from Hamill

As I wrote about before for the Deseret News, Hamill has reacted to his brief cameo in “The Mandalorian” Season 2 finale as a young Luke Skywalker. The show brought Hamill in for the cameo and used technology to de-age him.

Hamill tweeted about the cameo late last week.

  • “Sometimes the greatest gifts are the most unexpected and something you never realized you wanted until it was given,” Hamill tweeted.
