The latest trailer for the Marvel Studios project “WandaVision” has a direct reference to “The Avengers” films, which is the first time such a connection has been made.

The trailer includes a moment where Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) speaks with a neighbor named Agnes (Kathryn Hahn), who looks to Vision and Wanda and recognizes them for who they are.

  • “You’re the Avengers!” she exclaims.

As Collider points out, this is the first time we’ve seen Wanda and Vision referenced as Avengers in the trailers. It’s been unclear when WandaVision takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline since, ya know, Vision died in “Avengers: Infinity War.” So it will be interesting to see how the Avengers squad is referenced in the series.

  • “The longer, more official ‘WandaVision’ trailers have teased that, at some point, Wanda and Vision will reveal themselves as superheroes and don their costumes in order to save the day. But the confirmation that their time as Avengers will be recognized and could factor into, say, Agnes’ plans for them are rather eyebrow-raising.”
