2020 was a big year for Chris Pratt, and not necessarily in a good way. Late last summer, Pratt made headlines as an internet meme and his absence at a political fundraiser put the actor on the receiving end of droves of criticism on social media.
It's really no surprise that Pratt was ecstatic to celebrate the year’s end, and he did so by hosting a star-studded charitable event.
Pratt organized a two-hour virtual telethon on New Year’s Eve to raise money for Greater Good, a charity that helps feed the hungry, and he invited several of his all-star friends to participate, Today reports.
According to the site, the event — which can still be viewed in its entirety below as well as on Pratt’s Instagram page — featured appearances from Jamie Foxx, Bryce Dallas Howard, Zachary Levi and Tom Holland. Additionally, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” actor even convinced his father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger, to (virtually) stop by.
The “Terminator” actor and former governor of California used the moment as an opportunity to prank his son-in-law as he jokingly mistook the actor for another famous Chris.
When Schwarzenegger first appeared on Pratt’s screen, he said (via Page Six):
“Hello, Chris ... Evans, oh not Chris Evans, sorry, I’m going to screw up this whole thing right from the beginning, Chris Pratt.”
Pratt responded with bellowing laughter.
“I didn’t look at the cue cards the right way. Sorry about that. I should know your name, I should know your name. That’s for sure. You’re my favorite son-in-law,” Schwarzenegger said holding up a cue card with Pratt’s name on it.
“I’m your only son-in-law!” Pratt replied, “I better be your favorite!”
Pratt and Schwarzenegger touched on a variety of subjects during their brief chat, including COVID-19 vaccine distribution, the shutdown of California’s economy and the importance of wearing masks, Today reports.
