Betty White is turning 100 years old on Jan 17. To mark the big occasion, White spoke to People Magazine, revealing her secrets for longevity.
“I’m so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age,” says the actress. “It’s amazing.”
You would think she eats plenty of fruits and vegetables, but apparently not. ”I try to avoid anything green. I think it’s working,” she joked.
As for the key to happiness, White always works to “find the positive” in her life. “I got it from my mom, and that never changed,” she said.
Many of White’s colleagues chimed in and talked about what it was like working with such a legend, per People Magazine.
- “She’d come on my show, (“The Carol Burnett Show”), and if there was a tinge of risqué humor in one of our sketches, she’d roll with it and make it even funnier and add a little wink to show that she was thinking of something sexy,” says Carol Burnett. “She’s not a stand-up. She’s not a jokester. It’s the way she can twist a line to get a laugh.”
- White’s “The Proposal” castmate Sandra Bullock had nothing but praise for her as well. “Timing isn’t easy in comedy, because you have to navigate other people’s timing. Betty pivots like I have never seen, making it look seamless,” Bullock, 57, says. “The rest of us just remain silent and pray we’re not cut out of the scene.”
White has starred in hit series like “The Golden Girls” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” She prefers to live a quieter life now, playing crossword puzzles and card games, per CNN. She also enjoys watching wildlife documentaries, “Jeopardy!” and golf.
As reported by the Deseret News, White is inviting fans to celebrate her 100th birthday with her through the movie: “Betty White: 100 Years Young — A Birthday Celebration” which will be available in 900 movie theaters on Jan. 17.
