Former “The Mandalorian” star GIna Carano has also lost her representation with her agency, UTA, Deadline reports.

  • The news came hours after Carano lost her role on “The Mandalorian,” in which she starred for two seasons.

Most recent news

As I wrote for the Deseret News, Lucasfilm said Wednesday that Carano had been dropped from the “Star Wars” show.

  • “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
  • Carano was not reportedly attached to Season 3 of “The Mandalorian,” according to Deadline.

Context

Carano has faced constant criticism from social media because of her posts, which included mocking tweets and posts about the COVID-19 vaccine, Democrats, face masks and voter fraud, among other political issues, as I wrote for the Deseret News.

Disney fans have long used the #FireGinaCarano hashtag to call on Disney to fire the actress from “The Mandalorian.” It originated in fall 2020 around the start of Season 2 of “The Mandalorian,” as I wrote about for the Deseret News.

The Daily Beast reports that Carano had been dropped by her publicists in fall 2020 due to her social media activity.
