“The Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal recently celebrated the news that the Disney+ “Star Wars” show received a nomination for the Golden Globe awards.

  • “GOLD BABY!!! Congratulations #MandoFamily,” he tweeted, tagging showrunner Jon Favreau and writer Dave Filoni in his post.
  • The reaction came hours after the Golden Globe awards announced that “The Mandalorian” had been nominated for best drama television series.

Pedro Pascal’s connection to the show

The tweets Wednesday morning show Pedro Pascal is a big fan of “The Mandalorian.” This is despite rumors from September 2020 that Pascal quit the show halfway through production of the second season, which I wrote about for the Deseret News.

  • The rumor came from Grace Randolph — who has reported on “Star Wars” rumors before. She said Pascal left production halfway through because he “had numerous disagreements with the creative team and went to the studio behind their backs to plead his case, which allegedly resulted in the former ‘Game of Thrones’ star being given his marching orders,” according to We Got This Covered.

It really doesn’t seem like Pedro Pascal has left ‘The Mandalorian’
  • According to Rudolph, Pascal wanted scenes without the Mandalorian helmet. He was reportedly denied and decided to leave after that happened. But anyone who watched Season 2 saw that Mando does take off his helmet a few times.

Since then, Pascal has shown huge support for the show. He recently told IndieWire that the show will jump timelines for the third season, a sign that he is still involved in the project.

“I am told what’s happening and what the plan is, but I can’t share it,” Pascal said. “They are in the expansion of this world, where there are so many unexpected surprises and timelines that are going to be dealt with.”
