Quite a few characters in “The Office” found love during the show’s nine-season run, Jim and Pam, Michael and Holly, Dwight and Angela — but what about Meredith? Well, her romance blossomed while the cameras were turned off.

In a recent interview on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Kate Flannery, the actress who played Meredith Palmer on the hit comedy series, opened up about how she and her longtime boyfriend, Chris Haston, first met on the show’s set.

According to Today, Haston is a photographer for NBC, and Flannery’s relationship with him kicked off after she invited him to see one of her comedy acts after a day of filming.

“He asked me out when he came to the show,” Flannery recalled, via Today. She added, “Literally, we are kind of Jim and Pam ... because we worked together (and) we didn’t start dating until the end of season two.”

While Flannery’s character in “The Office” is single and looking to mingle, she and Horton have been going steady since 2006.

“We’ve been together for 13 years,” the actress told People in 2019. “I’m a late bloomer in love, in career, in everything. I say later is better because you’re more calm, wiser, you get to enjoy it all with more gratitude.”

“Chris and I (didn’t) meet until I was 41,” Flannery said in a 2020 interview with Closer Weekly. “I think both of us (had) a lot more realistic expectations with each other and a little more patience and a much better sense of humor.”

She added, “If you’re single and haven’t found the right person I’m here to tell you later is better. It’s actually really good!”

People reports that if fans look closely, Flannery and Haston can be spotted dancing together in the series finale of “The Office” at Angela and Dwight’s wedding reception.
