“WandaVision” will air its series finale Friday morning, and we’re really not sure what to expect.
Details
- Time: 1:01 a.m. MST (12:01 a.m. PST)
- Location: Disney+
- Titles: Episode 9 (series finale)
- Run time: 50 minutes (rumored)
What we know
We don’t know much. The eighth episode ended with Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) in a showdown with Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn), with Wanda’s children stuck in Agatha’s grasp.
- We’re still waiting to see what happens between Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Pietro (Evan Peters), who appeared to be ready to fight in a mid-credits scene in Episode 7.
- We learned during the end credits of Episode 8 that Tyler Hayward (Josh Stamberg) has a new version of Vision that looked to have a white color. Tyler said the new Vision needed power from Wanda’s alternate reality, called the Hex, in order to work. So it looks like Vision might be soon fighting White Vision (or Anti-Vision, if you like).
- Speaking of Vision, we don’t really know where he is. Last time we saw him, he was trying to figure out the mysteries of Westview.
What to expect
Expect to be disappointed. And that’s not my opinion. It comes straight from “WandaVision” director Matt Shakman, who told Entertainment Weekly that fans with major theories will be disappointed by the finale.
- “I hope that they feel like the journey was satisfying for them. I know there are so many theories out there; there will be a lot of people who will no doubt be disappointed by one theory or another. But we’re always telling this story about Wanda dealing with grief and learning how to accept that loss, and hopefully people will find that the finale is surprising but also satisfying, and that it feels inevitable because it’s the same story they’ve been watching the whole time.”
