Disneyland has released a new video that shows the park lighting up just days ahead of its official reopening.

  • The video — which you can see below or on YouTube — shows Disneyland turning on the lights as it prepares for its reopening on Friday.
  • The video includes messages from Josh D’Amaro, the chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, and Ken Potrock, president of the Disneyland Resort.
  • The video ends with Sleeping Beauty Castle lighting up.
  • “It is our wish that it may represent a beacon of hope for Disney fans everywhere,” Disney Parks said in a blog post.

The lighting up video originally aired Monday night at 9:30 p.m. MT during a livestreamed event.

Is it safe to visit Disneyland?

With the reopening only days away, questions have been raised about how safe it is to return amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Deseret News reported.

Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, UCSF Health Division of Infectious Diseases professor, told SF Gate that the park will remain safe for people as long as they follow the rules.

  • “Given the social distancing and especially the mask mandates, people will be generally safe,” he said. “The burden of COVID-19 in the state is very low right now, so chances of transmission events happening is low.”
