EA Sports released the first trailer for the upcoming FIFA 22 video game, including a peek at its cover star, France football star Kylian Mbappé.

The trailer, which you can see below, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the game’s production. The clip splits between scenes of real players competing on the field, followed by shots of them in the game.

What’s new for FIFA 22?

Per Yahoo Finance, the new game will have a new “HyperMotion” system for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, which uses machine learning to create organic movement on the screen.

The “HyperMotion” technology allows players to see animations in real-time, instead of in cut-away scenes which have often been the case for FIFA games in the past. The technology also allowed FIFA to capture the soccer stars for gameplay while they were playing in full games, Yahoo Finance reports.

The game will include:

  • A new goalkeeper system.
  • A new club creation method for the career mode.
  • The Volta Football mode will be remade.
  • Ultimate Team will see upgrades, too.

When does FIFA 22 come out?

FIFA 22 will be released Oct. 1 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC (via Origin and Steam), per Engadget.
