NBA 2K released new details about the forthcoming NBA 2K22 video game, including some news about what’s going to happen in the MyTeam mode beginning next year.

NBA 2K22 MyTeam mode adds a new ‘Draft Mode’

NBA 2K22 MyTeam will have a new “Draft Mode” in the upcoming video game. In most sports games, a draft mode allows gamers to pick players based on a specific pool and use them in online games. It appears that will be the same for NBA 2K22, according to the NBA 2K developer’s blog.

  • “Making its long-requested return in NBA 2K22, MyTEAM: Draft has you selecting a complete lineup from a constantly-updated pool of players. Compete with your new lineup in online multiplayer games to earn rewards for your MyTEAM Collection,” the dev blog explained.

NBA 2K22 MyTeam mode will add a new game mode

NBA 2K’s developer’s blog said the game will have “an original new game mode this holiday season.” It’s unclear what that game mode will look like, but it will be a welcome addition to a game that has stuck with the same game modes throughout the last two years.

More changes to come in NBA 2K22 MyTeam mode

NBA 2K said there will more changes to come in MyTeam, including features that will debut on the first day of the game.

  • “Throughout the year in NBA 2K22, new challenges, rewards, and events make every Season fresh and unique in MyTEAM,” according to the developer’s blog.

NBA 2K22 covers revealed

As I wrote about before, NBA 2K recently revealed the different covers for the upcoming NBA 2K22 edition of the game. Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic will grace the normal cover of the game, where as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant will be on the cover for the NBA 75th Anniversary Edition, as I wrote for the Deseret News.
