NBA 2K22 released new details about the upcoming basketball video game, sharing a first glimpse at what to expect in the MyCareer and MyTeam modes.

What’s new for NBA 2K22?

NBA 2K22 will embrace a new “seasons” concept, where players earn rewards and prizes for completing tasks throughout a certain length of time.

  • This happened in the MyTeam mode — where players can build fantasy lineups — in NBA 2K21. The feature is now being added across all modes.

What’s new in MyCareer?

The MyCareer mode — where you create a player and then can compete on the streets or on professional teams — will add a “seasons” feature, where players can earn apparel, banners and new prizes every season.

  • The new season will add Go-Karts and inline skates as modes of transportation.

What’s new in MyTeam?

The NBA 2K22 MyTeam mode will take on a familiar approach with the seasons concept. The game mode will allow you to earn points through the Domination, Triple Threat, Limited, Unlimited, Draft and more modes.

  • The Season 1 top-level reward will be the Carmelo Anthony, a pink diamond card (NBA 2K MyTeam ranks players based on different germs, ranking from the lowly bronze to the top tier Dark Matter cards).

When does NBA 2K22 come out?

NBA 2K22 will drop on Sept. 10. It will be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms.
