The release of the much-anticipated fifth season of “The Chosen” is quickly creeping up.

In celebration of the holiday season, “The Chosen” blessed fans with a Christmas gift in the form of a sneak peek of Season 5.

“We wanted to give you a Christmas gift, and that is a another scene from Season 5,” director Dallas Jenkins said in a video announcing the sneak-peek clip. “Now you’ve seen a couple already, both of them very intense, very even sad. This one’s uplifting.”

He continued, “This is Jesus wandering through the city of Jerusalem after he’s done the triumphal entry, and something fun happened.”

In the brief clip from a scene titled “An Unexpected Wedding Guest,” just days before his death, Jesus arrives at the engagement party of a young couple, where he “receives a warm welcome,” the post notes.

Jesus tells the group he was taking a walk when he became, “swept up in your joy.”

Season 5 of “The Chosen” will detail the final days of Christ’s ministry and earthly life.

A logline for the upcoming season reads: “The people of Israel welcome Jesus as king while his disciples anticipate his crowning. But — instead of confronting Rome — he turns the tables on the Jewish religious festival. Their power threatened, the country’s religious and political leaders will go to any length to ensure this Passover meal is Jesus’ last,” per “The Chosen” site.
