The Australian cartoon children’s show “Bluey” was at the top Nielsen’s overall streaming list for 2024.

For decades now, streaming has changed the way people watch TV. With various types of streaming services at your fingertips, you can watch whatever you want, as many times as you want.

According to Nielsen’s streaming report, there were 12 trillion minutes spent streaming in the U.S. in 2024, which is equal to 23 million years of streaming.

Here’s more about how “Bluey” did and why it was No. 1 overall in 2024.

‘Bluey’ is a favorite for everyone

“Bluey” follows the adventures of the 6-year-old blue heeler dog Bluey, her little sister Bingo, and their friends and family as they use imagination to bring joy and fun to everyday life.

According to Nielsen, “Bluey” had 55.62 billion minutes watched on Disney+ from Jan. 1-Dec. 29 and never dropped from the top 10 throughout the whole year. This is impressive considering that each episode is about seven minutes long.

This is “within striking distance” of the 57.7 billion minutes that the TV show “Suits” was streamed in 2023, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

However, all those minutes weren’t just from kids under 10; adults found a love for the show as well.

One parent review on Common Sense Media said that “in a world FULL of hustle and bustle, this show reminds me of what it is like to be (and think like) a child again.”

They continued, “It also helps me as a parent/guardian to remember to pick my battles, work together and you can accomplish ANYTHING!”

Who knew that a show about cartoon dogs would make such an impact on kids and parents?
