The official trailer for “Jurassic World: Rebirth” was dropped and is bringing a “new era” to the dinosaur world.

Scarlett Johansson stars with Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali in the new movie as they travel to an island that no one dares to travel to.

What is ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ about?

“Jurassic World: Rebirth” takes place five years after “Jurassic World Dominion” and follows an extraction team as they try to gather DNA from the biggest dinosaurs on land, in the sea and in the air as the samples are the key to a lifesaving drug, according to Universal Pictures.

However, the dinosaurs living on the island are bigger and more dangerous than ever before.

Johansson is taking her Black Widow skills to a new level as her character, Zora Bennett, is tasked to head the operation traveling to the island that is home to the original “Jurassic Park” research facility.

According to Deadline, Bennett and her trusted team member, Duncan Kincaid (Ali), as well as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Bailey), unite with a family who got shipwrecked thanks to rogue aquatic dinosaurs. Together they uncover a secret that has been hidden from the world for decades.

This addition to the dinosaur world gives off a mix of nostalgic feelings and excitement for a new adventure.

With “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” director Gareth Edwards being joined by the original “Jurassic Park” screenwriter David Koepp, and characters created by American author, Michael Crichton, per Universal Pictures, it might be easy to see why.

Fans can look forward to the team not only traveling to the original “Jurassic Park” research facility, but encountering raptors and chases with jeeps speeding through terrain and busting through gates.

One scene even mirrors the original scene of Alan Grant (Sam Neill) lighting a flare and a giant T. rex stepping out of the fog.

And, of course, someone gets eaten. Is it really a dinosaur movie if someone doesn’t?

According to Universal Pictures, fans will be able to see the new movie in theaters starting July 2, 2025.
