Back in April 2024, Audible announced it would be bringing the beloved “Harry Potter” series to life in a whole new way — not just as audiobooks, but as full-cast productions.

On Tuesday, Pottermore Publishing and Audible Inc. revealed the cast for “Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions,” a new take on the Wizarding World designed to give listeners an immersive experience from beginning to end.

As for the central trio — Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger — their voices will be performed by two sets of actors. Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester and Arabella Stanton will portray the trio in books 1 through 3, respectively. Starting with book 4, the roles will be taken over by Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan and Nina Barker-Francis, respectively, a casting shift meant to reflect the characters’ growth as the story progresses.

More than 200 voice actors will be involved in the series, which will also feature original music and real-world sound capture. According to Today, Audible promises “a larger-than-life listening experience,” supported by high-quality sound design in Dolby Atmos.
