The fate of the acts competing for $1 million on Season 20 of “America’s Got Talent” is now in the hands of viewers.

For the quarterfinal round of the competition, which concluded earlier this week, each episode advanced three acts to the semifinals based on voting from viewers.

Here’s a look at the final three acts that made it to the semifinals, which air Sept. 16 and 17 on NBC.

Who made the ‘AGT’ 2025 semifinals?

During quarterfinal episode No. 4, the following three acts made the semifinals: Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir, TT Boys and Zak Mirz.

Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir

Ahkeem Lee started the Birmingham Youth and Young Adult Fellowship Choir when he was 18. 10 years later, the choir is still going — and making an impressive run on “America’s Got Talent.”

“We come from a city that is oftentimes criticized or kind of put last on a list when you think about cities in America, but Birmingham has such a rich history,” Lee told the “AGT” judges, noting that he grew up at the historic 16th Street Baptist Church, which was the site of a 1963 bombing that killed four girls during the Civil Rights Movement.

“We wanted the opportunity to show that Birmingham, Alabama, has some talented young people, and we want to do something great for the community,” he continued.

For the choir’s “AGT” debut, the singers performed a mashup of the traditional “Hymn of Joy” and Pharrell and Voice of Fire’s 2023 updated take on the song, per NBC.com.

Lee and the singers were visibly emotional after the performance, and the audition led “AGT” judge Simon Cowell to hit the golden buzzer and advance them straight to the quarterfinals.

“I could see and hear how much work went into this,” Cowell said. “Every single one of you played the perfect part. ... I’m so honored that you would come here on our 20th anniversary.”

During the quarterfinals, the choir had the judges and audience cheering as they put a gospel spin on Fatboy Slim’s “Praise You.”

“That was the feel-good moment of the show tonight,” “AGT” judge Sofia Vergara said.

“Lighting up the room, lighting up the sky,” Cowell added. “Seriously, that’s what great choirs should do.”

TT Boys

The TT Boys, an acrobatic duo from Ethiopia, told the judges they flew to the United States just to audition for “America’s Got Talent.”

Their act — which features Tomas Alemu perpetually spinning and doing flips off of Tamrat Ayalew’s foot — had the judges in disbelief and even covering their eyes at some points.

And then the TT Boys brought their act off the stage and even closer to the judges’ table, where they proceeded to do more than 20 flips in a row.

“AGT” judge Howie Mandel called it “jaw-dropping brilliance.”

“I cannot even imagine the amount of work to be able to do it so perfectly,” Vergara said.

“We’ve never seen anything like this,” Cowell added. “This is one of the best acts we’ve seen this year, honestly.”

For the quarterfinals, the TT Boys stepped up their game by having Alemu do the routine blindfolded.

“I actually feel sick, and I feel exhausted,” “AGT” judge Mel B said.

“An act like that, it just creates so much excitement within you,” Cowell added.

Although the crowd was so enthusiastic, trying to get Mandel to hit his golden buzzer to send the TT Boys straight through to the finale, the judge refrained from pushing the buzzer and encouraged viewers at home to send the TT Boys to the semifinals.

Zak Mirz

Zak Mirz, a magician from Dallas, Texas, made his “AGT” debut with an interactive trick that allowed even viewers at home to participate.

Noting that his 2-year-old daughter’s birthday was coming up, Mirz had the audience help with selecting a gift.

First, the judges each rolled a cube to reveal four images: an angel, a ball, the color red and an elephant.

Corresponding images then appeared on a screen — in the studio and on the TV for viewers at home — to follow along.

Mirz had each person start by picking a ball to point to on the screen (there were footballs, soccer balls and basketballs), and from there, he provided steps for viewers to move from one image to the next.

At the end, all of the images disappeared from the screen, except for a red bear — and apparently everyone taking part in the trick was pointing at that bear.

Mirz then showed that the starting letters of the images the judges had picked spelled “bear,” and opened up the present on stage to reveal a large, red bear.

Following the trick, Mandel noted that three magicians have won “AGT.”

“And you took that bar and you went above it,” he said.

But Mandel, at least initially, didn’t have as much praise during the quarterfinals.

Complaining that Mirz’s interactive card trick was taking too long, Mandel hit his red X to show disapproval for the act — a rare move during the quarterfinals.

But the judge actually ended up taking back his X following the act’s big reveal — a punchline that played off a mistake Mandel had made during the trick’s step-by-step process.

Although Vergara also said she found the act a little too complex at times, the audience ended up sending Mirz through to the semifinals.

Mirz was previously a winner on Penn & Teller’s “Fool Us,” according to his website.

Who else made the ‘AGT’ 2025 semifinals?

During the first round of the quarterfinals, singer Jourdan Blue, the dance troupe LightWire and the trapeze duo Sirca Marea advanced to the semifinals, the Deseret News previously reported.

Ten-year-old guitar prodigy Bay Melnick Virgolino, the Leo High School Choir and the dance crew Unreal were voted through to the semifinals during the second round of quarterfinals, per Deseret News.

The other two acts from the episode to advance were improv rapper Chris Turner and singer Jessica Sanchez, as the Deseret News reported.

How do the ‘AGT’ 2025 semifinals work?

With Mastermind out of the competition, a total of 11 acts will compete in the “AGT” semifinals.

Per a TV listing, one act will receive a golden buzzer during the semifinals to advance straight to the finals. That act will join four other acts that also advanced straight to the finale after previously receiving a golden buzzer during the quarterfinals.

“AGT” viewers will then select six acts to move forward in the finals, rounding out the season’s top 11.
