As fans wait to see what comes next in “Stranger Things,” Netflix released a trailer for Volume 2 of the show’s fifth and final season.
Volume 1 of the season was released on Nov. 26 and included four episodes. Volume 2 will be released on Christmas Day, giving fans three new episodes. This will all be followed by the series finale, which will be released on New Year’s Eve.
Here’s a look at the new trailer and what we know about Volume 2 of “Stranger Things” Season 5:
What the trailer tells us about the next 3 episodes of Season 5
The trailer is soundtracked by Diana Ross’ 1980 track “Upside Down,” and picks up right where things left off in Hawkins, Indiana, and beyond.
It starts by showing Will (Noah Schnapp) telling his mom Joyce (Winona Ryder): “We failed. We never stood a chance.”
She responds, “This is not over — not by a long shot.”
The new look into Volume 2 shows fans that they will be learning some new things about the Upside Down. In the trailer, a horrified Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) says: “This whole time, everything we have ever assumed about the Upside Down, has been dead wrong.”
Millie Bobby Brown’s character Eleven is shown trying to convince newly relocated Eight (Kali Prasad) to help fight Vecna. “Help me find him, kill him,” Eleven says.
The trailer shows Vecna — in both human and monster form — as well as some Demogorgons. There are also glimpses of Max (Sadie Sink) and Holly (Nell Fisher), who have left their cave and walk through a floating door, destination unknown.

There is also a shot of Dustin and Steve (Joe Keery) telling each other, “You die, I die.”
Throughout the rest of the trailer, there are flashes of shootings, massive explosions, Eleven tapping into her powers and the whole crew emphasizing their need to work as a team to survive it all.
“It is time for a new world,” Vecna says at the end of the video, which closes just as suspensefully as it started.
