Colleen Hoover, the bestselling and prolific author of novels like “It Ends With Us” and “Verity,” shared a recent update on her ongoing cancer treatment.
In an Instagram story posted on Monday, the author, 46, shared that she has one more day of radiation left. In the photo, Hoover is shown in a sweatshirt covered by a hospital gown; she has messy hair and a grimace on her face.
“Second to last day of radiation,” she wrote on her Instagram stories. “I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @Texas.Oncology, but they’ve been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.”
Last month, Hoover announced on Facebook that she had been diagnosed with cancer. In the post, she shared it had been surgically removed, per USA Today. She added that she would need radiation but not chemotherapy.
Hoover has not shared what type of cancer she was diagnosed with.
In October, Hoover shared on Instagram that she would have to miss several events for her book-to-film adaptation “Regretting You” so she could have “an unavoidable surgery.”
Her most recent health update comes as she released her most recent novel, “Woman Down,” on Tuesday, per People. The book tells the story of an author who faces backlash about the movie adaptation of one of her books.
So far, several of Hoover’s books have been adapted into movies: “It Ends with Us” was released in 2024, “Regretting You” premiered last October, and “Reminders of Him” will hit theaters in March. Another book, “Verity,” is also set to be adapted for the screen, starring Anne Hathaway.
