The sixth season of “The Chosen” will make its official debut on Prime Video this November.

Season 6 will span six episodes, plus a finale, launching with three episodes on Nov. 15, followed by weekly installments before concluding with the global theatrical release of the season finale in spring 2027.

During a Sunday night livestream, Dallas Jenkins, creator of “The Chosen,” said the sixth season will feature scenes that are both “heavy” and filled with “joy and beauty and meaning.”

Jenkins added that he believes the upcoming installment of the biblical drama “is going to impact more people than any season we’ve ever done.”

“This is the moment when we’re going all in,” Jenkins added. “All the five seasons previously have led to this, to Seasons 6 and 7.”

Below are the official streaming release dates for “The Chosen” Season 6:

  • Episodes 1-3: Nov. 15
  • Episode 4: Nov. 22
  • Episode 5: Nov. 29
  • Episode 6: Dec. 6
  • Season finale: In theaters spring 2027

The sixth season will follow the same release pattern globally and will be available on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, sub-Saharan Africa, the U.K., and Latin America.

For the first time, all six episodes and the finale will be released in dozens of languages — instead of translations being added after the show’s release.

The highly anticipated sixth season will depict the final 24 hours in the life of Jesus Christ, known as Good Friday. Audiences will see Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion along with the confusion among his disciples that ultimately leads them to scatter.

“Everyone knows the basics of this part of the story, but not everyone knows the ‘why’ of the crucifixion and the extraordinary events of these 24 hours,” Jenkins said in a statement. “We realized this not only deserved a season of television but a standalone full-length theatrical event as well. We wrote and filmed all of it with this in mind.”

In a previous interview with the Deseret News, Jenkins said the sixth season will focus on “surrender.”

“We’re watching Jesus ultimately surrender to something that was extraordinarily painful,” Jenkins said.

He continued, “The disciples confused, broken, wondering, having to surrender. I think I’m hoping that the viewers come away from the season saying, Can you surrender even when you don’t always understand people?”

Jenkins also revealed that, following the partial release of the sixth installment on Prime Video, the season will conclude with a feature-length finale.

“The finale of Season 6 is essentially a supersized episode that is going to be released as the theatrical global event all over the world,” Jenkins said.

He continued, “Season 6 is the biggest season we’ve ever done, without a close second, it’s taking the longest to film, by far. The visual effects, the translations, especially, take at least two to three times longer than any season we’ve ever done.”

“The whole season is supersized. And so it just can take time. ... I just ask for your continued grace and patience. It will be worth it.”

Official dates for the sixth season’s release on “The Chosen” app have yet to be announced.

As part of the agreement between Jenkins’ 5&2 Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video holds a 90-day exclusivity window, meaning new installments of “The Chosen” must stream exclusively on the platform before becoming available in “The Chosen” app.

When announcing the exclusivity deal in a February 2025 livestream, Jenkins noted that 90 days “is actually a short window of exclusivity. (Prime Video) has been so cooperative with us on making sure that that exclusive window is as short as possible.”

The 90-day window of exclusivity starts once all episodes have been released on Prime Video.
