The 14 singers remaining on “American Idol” this season likely entered Monday night’s live episode with more nerves than usual.

At the start of Monday’s episode, “Idol” revealed that singers Julián Kalel and Jake Thistle didn’t receive enough votes to advance to the top 12 round of the competition.
