A new wildfire burning in Uintah County prompted response efforts Tuesday evening.

The Dry Fork Fire sparked about 13 miles northwest of Vernal on Bureau of Land Management land and is estimated at 50 acres, according to Utah Fire Info.

Smoke could be seen for miles across Ashley Valley, fire officials said.

Crews are on scene and will remain overnight before reassessing conditions in the morning.
