As destructive wildfires burn in Southern California, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is continuing its efforts to provide relief to those affected.

Church meetinghouses in the area survived the fires and the Church has offered the buildings for use as staging areas or shelter as needed and as a place of worship for all faiths, explained a news release on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

The update said that at least 48 Church members have lost their homes and approximately 750 members remain evacuated, down from an estimated 1,000 in last Friday’s report. Last Friday’s report also explained that the Los Angeles California Temple is still operating and all missionaries are continuing their service.
