With President Russell M. Nelson’s 101st birthday approaching, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is inviting members and friends of the faith to reflect upon the prophet’s teachings of Jesus Christ through posts that will be shared on social media from now until his birthday on Sept. 9.
“Over the next eight days,” reads a Sept. 1 social media post from the church, “please learn with us as we focus on Russell M. Nelson: 101 — a series of important lessons from a beloved prophet.”
The church’s Sept. 1 post adds that each message shared for President Nelson’s upcoming birthday will offer “insights into following the Savior with greater faith, love and devotion,” as taught by him — the oldest living leader of a global church.
Members and friends of the faith are invited share the prophet’s teachings, as well as use the hashtag #PresidentNelson101 to share any lessons they’ve learned from President Nelson and/or how his teachings have impacted them.
Likewise, individuals may choose to share their responses using the hashtag #PresidentNelsonLessons for a chance to have them featured on the Deseret News or the Church News. Email responses to ChurchNews@deseretnews.com are also accepted.
