The first day of the 195th Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is complete.

The five sessions take place over two days at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, which is at full capacity for just the third time since 2019.

Millions of church members are gathering to watch or listen to messages from church leadership. The conference is being led by the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for the first time since 1951. As president of the Quorum of the Twelve, President Dallin H. Oaks presides over the sessions.

President Russell M. Nelson died Saturday, Sept. 27, at the age of 101 after seven years of leading the global faith.
